Catholic Charities NWFL has an opening for a Program Specialist in the Tallahassee area. The Program Specialist’s objective is to support the mission of Catholic Charities, which is to carry out the social mission of the Catholic Church in Northwest Florida by serving, empowering and advocating for vulnerable families and individuals of any race, religion or national origin. Catholic Charities of Northwest Florida is seeking an AmeriCorp Vista for the Circles® Program in the Panama City office.

Classification Summary:  Provides supporting efforts to educate individuals, impact, and reduce poverty in Bay County as well as our neighbor communities. The member will support Circles® initiative through Catholic Charities of Northwest Florida in capacity building. This is completed by developing relationships with community organizations interested in leadership opportunities in the Circles® Initiative for Bay County and providing tracking, orientation and training to community volunteers. Analyzing Circles® outcome data and progress and assisting with the creation of marketing material for Circles® initiative at a local and regional basis. Assisting with recruitment and training of 4 partner organizations expanding the Circles® Model throughout the State of Florida.

Qualifications:

  • An interest in working within a social service organization that has a focus on capacity     building and anti-poverty.
  • Highly organized, dedicated, responsible, team-oriented, and flexible.
  • Strong writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Applications including PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook

Compensation: AmeriCorps VISTA members who successfully complete a term of service are eligible to receive an AmeriCorps Education Award or cash stipend.
